New Texas Refinery Production by Exxon

After Hurricane Harvey swept through, knocking refinery production off the Gulf Coast, ExxonMobil has just announced that they have started production this past Tuesday at a new refinery in Texas. The Hurricane took around 60% of plastic production offline. This will be the first of two new polyethylene lines of 650,000 tpy plastics plant in Mont Belvieu.

These refineries are a part of Exxon’s “Growing the Gulf” initiative which plans to invest over $20 Billion over the period of 10 years toward Gulf region manufacturing facilities, including chemical, refining, LNG, and lubricant projects.
